Reminder –
Medical masks will be required for all staff during this high transmission period (8 weeks). Public Health is recommending that students continue to bring properly fitted masks from home to school.
The stated reason why Public Health is not recommending school divisions and schools provide medical masks to students is related to proper fit. They noted that medical masks do not properly fit all faces, particularly with young children. Fit is extremely important, so parents/guardians are asked to please find a mask that best fits their child’s face. The recommendation is also for a 3 ply mask.
If a student is not able to bring a mask from home, the school can provide a medical mask upon return to in person classes.
